    Turok

    Publisher: Disney Interactive Studios, Touchstone
    Developer: Propaganda Games
    Published: February 05, 2008
    Category: Action, Shooter, First-Person
    Players: 1-16

Touchstone, a branch of Disney were ones who published the game. This new game is the first in franchise in 6 years. Movies like Jurassic Park have aspects of the time-traveling, but in its stead is a science-fiction story that involves a distant ship that crashes into a world of aliens. Game includes of interesting plot twists and nasty dialogues. Aside the senseless action.

Presentation - 7.5/10 You play as Joseph Turok, an American solider who is trained to hunt a rogue military company of which he once used to be a member of. Turok freely imitates from many resources, the plot feels much like ones from Jurassic Park. There's also not to the game in the storyline. Ship crashes on a planet, Go find the mystery voice that's pretty straightforward and out of fashion. Turok could have made an interesting plot but failed to do so. The story line is of 10 full hours of playtime more than any FPS.

Graphics - 8/10 The visual designs of character and vehicles feels to be taken from Gears of War. The environment is confusing and camouflaged. The visuals are powered by the Unreal engine, gives that they are not sharp or crisp as in other Unreal-engine games. Granted, there are some great animations, particularly when a dinosaur is dying on the ground twitching in pain. The PS3 version looks nice in graphical lighting and shading, though X360 game suffers. However, they both are quiet identical.

Gameplay - 9/10 The only thing in the game is fighting dino's. You encounter many varied species of dinosaurs such as quick raptors, docile and our favorite T-rex. You have rare selection of your firearms in the game. The game includes many cinematic action, move or thrust down buttons continuously. It's so well done that it's a bit unsettling fighting with your knifes.

The gets frustrating when fighting waves of dinosaurs. For example, you are attacked by dinosaurs the first wave is going to be itself hard and in no time minutes another wave attacks. This process of frustrating fights goes on, and further the checkpoints for saving are not much so, you would have to replay from the start. The human hostiles is quiet easy in contrast to the dinosaurs.

Sound - 9/10 The sound is somewhat perfect with great voice acting and some nasty dialogues make it a little cheesy. The sound effects are sure no trites with excellent sound of footsteps and the cries of dinosaurs.

Replayability - 7/10 Depends on the gamers. But, I would prefer it.

Misc [for extra info.] There's support for up to four players in co-op in multiplayer, and the action is a lot more intense than in regular single-player because the number of enemies and dinosaurs have been increased to extreme. The downside is that it's difficult to find an available game at times online, even in the evenings. The multiplayer very difficult to handle in many occasions.

    Overall Rating - 40.5/50

Turok is an epic, story-driven FPS game set on a dark, mysterious planet in the near future. Players take on the role of Joseph Turok, a former Black Ops commando, now part of an elite Special Forces squad on a mission to take down a war criminal on a genetically-altered planet. After the ship is shot down while approaching the planet, Joseph Turok must use his instincts and elite military training to elude an army of well-trained soldiers, and the ravenous, unpredictable creatures that populate the dangerous environment. Joseph Turok's mission? Survive at all costs.

    Skate

    Publisher:     Electronic Arts
Developer:    Black Box, EA Black Box
    Published:    September 24, 2007
    Category:    Sports, Other, Extreme

2007 has been a year of several skateboarding games since the Tony Hawks series. Most of them failed abruptly as they were duplicate with the same technique and gameplay. The Activision prominent maker of skateboarding games had a severe competition with the arrival of EA's Skate,At times Skate looks like simulation style Tony Hawks but aside the skateboards, the two don't have whole in common.Great thanks to Skate's superb control system, Which adds relevant joy to the players.Skate adds excellent analog controls and triggers, this makes it an awesome system of tricks.Unfortunately, the usage of these controls is done on challenges and goals that extremely annoying. Moreover, the Skate provides with a unstable frame rate.

Presentation - 8.5/10 The Skate story/career mode is straightforward. It starts when you get slammed by a bus and going in for surgery. This makes you change your face and body type.Once, you are ready to go it's time to win.The benefits of winning-be on the cover-page of a magazine, you'll have to finish may photo goals. Some of them are quite easy just like achieving points on certain periods,Doing some specific tricks, some of them are time attacks or beat trick contests. Some of them are also to skate on no-skate zones which are patrolled by security guards,Some require you to do a lot of spins, remaining in the air for 10 secs and so on.The film goals are probably the trickiest ones in the entire game.As you progress to through the game you will come across many places including such indoor locations as the Plan B Warehouse and the X Games Stadium. There is also a community reason . You can use replay editor and capture several masterpieces and share them around the world. These can be viewed through the menu in the game or the game's website,it's nice because you can see the replays even if  you don't own the game.

Graphics - 9/10 On visual aspects,Skate has realistic looks and presents the environment nicely. The skaters look good and the animation is just perfect. The crazy visuals gives it street look.By realizing the supreme use of next-generation consoles Skate presents the graphics in a new style.

Gameplay - 9/10 Skate moves the movement controls to the left analog stick. The right analog stick is for tricks such as flips,Ollie. For doing small tricks such as kickflips is a more complicated part. The triggers are used to perform grabs in the air.Their is a depth in the game of such modified controls but it isn't the best of all.A lot tricks are done in quite similar ways in achieving goals sometimes when you get in contact with one of the tricks you would be performing it again and again which in-turn gets frustrating esp. in Skate competitions, where you have to perform the same tricks as your opponent.Grinding in Skate is easy, just get into the air and land on an edge.During the game the camera is zoomed to your skater which means you will be blocked and unable to see a clear view.Skate is very crucial on timing meaning on how long you crouch.Their is no skater skill boosting, unlocking tricks etc. except the personal skill boost.

Sound - 8/10 As for soundtracks they are a mixture of weird mixes of music that actually don't play throughout the game often.Skaters often carry radios with them and then you faintly start to hear them. But most of the music is little too shabby to hear.Besides the soundtracks the audio effects are tremendous like when you skid the skateboard hard the wheels make noise. The presence ingame audio is really well detailed.

Replayability - 6/10 So,as there are both ups and downs for Skate but still is good choice on your collection with high potentials.Truly a game to try for skateboarding fans. But,in turn I believe the replay of the game is another pack of  annoying and frustrating matters. The game is not at all comfortable for replaying.

Misc.( For extra information ) - Like other sports games, Skate is filled with plenty of sponsored equipment and other product placement.EA and Adidas sponsor for the shoe equipment. These are often introduced and advertised. The offers different advertisements downloads but still the lacks the majority of ads.Resulting you would see the same advertisements over and over again.

    Overall Rating - 40.5/50

Skate delivers the real feel of skating in a fully reactive skateboarding city, utilizing the power of the Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles for advanced new control and physics techniques to feel through every kick-flip and land every aerial. The game features professional skaters such as Danny Way and PJ Ladd. Skate's unique control scheme captures the true feel of skating -- with physics-driven animations, gamers will have a unique gaming experience every time they pick up the controller since no two tricks will ever be the same.
